Early Stages Bear Diaries

Thursday, October 4th, 2007

All Early Stages students are taking turns to carry home a teddy to stay with them for the week. Teddy has to be given a name by the child and has to come back the week afterwards and tell us where he has been.

Some children choose to keep a bear diary and when they do we will post them to this site. We also hope that parents will take some digital photographs of the bear and child together and e mail them to us for this section.

Firstly we have Emelia Boyle with her teddy`s adventures:-

James Waine of the 9.15am Darlington Early stages class is the first student to win the platinum award for hard work. He has acumulated enough cards full of stickers to earn his £5 reward. Here he is looking justly proud.

Here are some of the photos that I took of the Darlington Early Stages Party. I`m afraid that I got a fault on the camera before I could finish photographing everyone and I did not get it coreected in time for the Yarm Early Stages party at all, I`m sorry to say.

PANTO TICKETS OFFER FOR WED 11th JAN - APPLY TO ME NOW

ITS PANTOMIME TERM  - OH YES IT IS!!

As our theme with Early Stages students this term, we are looking at `pantomime`.  Some students may never have seen a pantomime so to start the ball rolling, we are planning a trip to the pantomime
“Cinderella”  at Darlington Civic Theatre, which has had very good reviews. It stars Jimmy Cricket the comedian and Ray Quinn from X Factor.

I have managed to get a tremendous blanket block booking price of £10.50 per head, regardless of
whether it is an adult or child in the seat. (This is opposed to the £19 - £21 per head that it should usually be)  It is for the 7.00pm performance on Wednesday 11th January (it finishes at 9.20pm).  The panto season in Darlington finishes this coming Saturday.

Each Stagecoach student would need a single adult to accompany them, but extra people can come too. I have reserved a block of seats and must confirm numbers this Monday and pay for them then also. THIS MEANS THAT ONCE 9am MONDAY MORNING ARRIVES YOU CANNOT CHANGE YOUR TICKET ORDER AND WILL BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COST OF ANY TICKETS ORDERED, AS I WILL HAVE PAID FOR THEM.

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN THE PARTY THEN I MUST HAVE AN E MAIL TO t.hindmarsh15@btinternet.com by the deadline of 8.45am Monday 9th JAN (to which I will reply) stating the student`s name and how many tickets you require.

Alternatively you may tell me in person but please witness my adding your name to the list. You may also telephone 01325 337667 and leave a message (I will reply to it).

Sofia - the Bear - and the Trincomalee!

Monday, March 21st, 2011

Sofia + bear

The pirate bear was thrilled skinny recently to be taken aboard a `real` pirate ship by Sofia Bache from Yarm Early Stages. It was the Trincomalee, docked at Hartlepool.  As ever there he is courting danger - staring down cannon.  I hope that Sophia made him walk the plank!!

Alex and the Rascal Bear

Alex + bear

Little Alex Jamieson from Yarm Early Stages took the pirate bear home recently. Alex told me with great glee that he was naughty - “He watched his sister`s TV without asking!!!” Playing with power tools looks more outrageous to me but I`ll let Alex be the judge. I do find those elephant ear muffs fetching though!!

Glad to See Pirate Bear Behaving After His Jail Scare

Friday, March 4th, 2011

Aimee Frost from Yarm Early Stages found pirate bear a changed bear when he went home with her recently. The jail scare must have done him good. Here he is with Aimee making scambled egg in her kitchen. It tasted so good that she rewarded him by letting him play on her games machine. What a relief to find him a changed bear! I hope it lasts.
