KATE RUDDICK
Monday, July 9th, 2007
Kate Bradshaw started working as a Dance teacher at Stagecoach Darlington when it opened in April 1998. She soon became a well-loved member of staff, known for being generous with her time and efforts, on behalf of students.
She taught Dance in the two schools that opened on that day (Saturday AM and PM) , and since then, has gone on to teach Dance in the Thursday Darlington school, and Dance (and at one time Singing) to Early Stages classes attached to those Darlington schools. Kate also spent a long time as the Early Stages teacher in Yarm before she opened her own Stagecoach school in Bishop Auckland.
Kate also owned Northallerton Stagecoach, after I moved across to open the Friday evening school in Darlington. She has now passed the ownership of Northallerton on to the principal of Malton Stagecoach.
Whilst working with us, Kate met and married Alastair, thus changing her name to Ruddick (Stagecoach STARE dancers danced at their wedding) and they had Joe and Sophie (see photo below). Kate and her family have just moved from Spennymoor to live in Weardale.

I cant believe that ten years have past and I still love every minute of my classes. Who would of thought I would end up in a job that I get so much pleasure out of. I met Trudy at yarm when she gave me a trial run as dance teacher. I never would have thought that “Shake Your Tail Feather” would have been such a success and I’ve been shaking my touche ever since!
I began at yarm as an early stages teacher and progressed to saturday morning, afternoon and thursday evenings as a main school teacher. With Trudy’s help I took over two schools of my own at Northallerton and Bishop Auckland and even though she had a busy schedule she always had time for me during that period.
Personally, I have two beautiful children and a husband who is very supportive. Sophie my daughter of 5 attends Bishop Auckland Stagecoach where she is starring as a pig in our end of term production of “The Little Red Hen”.
My two children really enjoy the summer workshops at Teeside High and we usually meet Sue, Stagecoach Singing Teacher, at Butterfly World for a picnic during the workshop.
I wish all the children loads more success. Keep step ball changing and wiggling those bums like I always do!
PS. Jeff I’ve lost my car, car keys and by the way………..have you seen my kids?
PSS. Hope to see Robin, Jodie, Hollie, Sarah and the gang at the anniversary (”Don’t Call Me Baby”)
