What’s On

Monday, July 9th, 2007

This section is a look around the region to see what might be happening within the Performing Arts. Whilst I will make regular contributions, I hope that everyone else will also join in.

It might be an event or performance that you might want to draw to the attention of others. It might be something you have just seen and you want to add it like a newspaper review.

It can be professional or amateur productions - just whatever you think other people would enjoy.

Can You Help Radio Teesdale Stay Afloat?

Thursday, October 6th, 2011

Hello you!

Well it’s nearly here! Next Friday is the 3rd year we’ve ran Radio Teesdale’s Radiothon and we need your help to raise awareness and money. Even if you are not hands on with the Radiothon we would really appreciate it if you could spread the word of the Radiothon and get friends, colleagues and family to donate to keeping the station on air. Some members are doing sponsors, some have
donated prizes and some are shaving their eyebrows (you don’t have to go that far!!)

If all Radio Teesdale members raise £30 each this would be a fantastic achievement and take a huge pressure off the people hehind the scenes who raise lots of money so that us presenters can go and have fun every week and stay community orientated.

The cost of keeping us on air is £60,000 a year and is down to a few people to raise these funds. It’s important that the community realises that it does cost a lot of money for us to broadcast and that if they like what we do and want us to keep broadcasting we need to find this every year.

If you could help that would be really really appreciated. As of next week you and people you know can donate online at http://www.radioteesdale.co.uk/. If you could spread this link that would be appreciated.

Also for your attention:

PRIZES TO AUCTION:

We are going to be starting this at the start of next week (Monday) and asking yourselves and listeners to bid for items either on facebook, email or over the phone.

A Night at the Honeymoon Suite at THE MORRITT (thanks
Barbara)

2 RETURN FIRST CLASS RAIL tickets from Darlington to London or from Darlington to
Scotland worth £600!! (Thanks John Gelson)

A STUNT DRIVING EXPERIENCE with Paul Swift Precision Driving (thanks Paul
Swift)

DONATIONS:

We are also setting up a DONATE button online for listeners to contribute towards the station whether it’s £1 to £50. This is hopefully getting sorted over next few days. So week leading up to and definitely the Radiothon itself can you PUSH PUSH PUSH this as well as the bidding war!!

If you  have any ideas for prizes, guests, features or anything you can think of please  let me know and I’ll help the best I can.

Thanks so much
