Summer Workshop at Sunderland Empire

Stage Experience at the Sunderland Empire is in it’s 8th year – and this year we’re offering young thespians from across the region (and even more further afield) an even further extensive experience!

Stage Experience is a 2 week summer programme for 9-25 years olds, enthusiastic about developing skills and experience in theatre and creative industries. Throughout the 2 weeks, participants completely take over the Sunderland Empire, West end of the North East, which boasts the largest stage in the North East.
From July 22nd 2013, Participants are nurtured by theatre professionals including the Creative Team (MD, Director, Choreographer and assistants) who travel up annually specifically for the project, as well as our in house team. The project culminate in four full-scale musical theatre performances of Footloose to packed out audiences, with live orchestral band, professionally hired set and LX and sound – which is delivered by technical participants and supported by technical staff.

Stage Experience is a great asset for CV’s, UCAS and Performing Arts and Drama School applications. Many past participants have gone onto top drama schools, and some even work in theatre now – a few at the Empire itself!

Please get in touch to discuss what Stage Experience is offering this year, or if you have any queries.

The deadline for applications is 3rd May -  Application is attached.

Many Thanks,

Hollie Coxon.

  2. I am afraid that we are nothing to do with the Sunderland Empire workshop programme. It was just that one of our boys took part and I was reporting it. As far as I know the Empire has stopped doing the workshops :(
