Good News Story About Honorary Student Ellen

Two years ago, I was reading the Northern Echo when I read about Ellen Miller who had embarked upon Drama `A` level. It was a course that her school had arranged as a joint venture with another comprehensive. After one year, it had apparently become impossible to timetable any more and Ellen was left high and dry, with a wasted year. I contacted Ellen, through the paper, and offered to tutor her in LAMDA Acting exams as an alternative to Drama `A` Level. A Distinction at gold medal standard gives a UCAS equivalence to an `A`Level.
Last year we worked towards a Bronze medal but Ellen worked so hard that I decided that she could get a silver medal instead. She did and gained a MERIT. This year she has been working on her gold medal and I am delighted to say has earned a DISTINCTION, with a score of 86%. This is a great “feel-good” ending to a depressing story I feel and is all the more to Ellen`s credit because she has battled ill health this year, which has meant that she has missed much of her other schooling. I think that Ellen deserves to be made an honorary Stagecoach student for her efforts. WE WISH YOU EVERY GOOD WISH FOR THE FUTURE ELLEN!
