Alice and Andrew Join the Elite
This Summer Andrew Ashton (Yarm PM school and Boys Only Dance Class) won a place with Youth Music Theatre in a production of `Peter Pan` in Ascot. Alice Byrne (Darlington Friday School) won a place with the National Youth Theatre in a production of `Swarm` performed open-air in London. Both the YMT and NYT groups recruit nationally and audition hundreds and sometimes thousands of young people before choosing just a handful to be part of their groups.
Both students had their skills sharpened up in `Billy Eliot` before the Summer term ended - Andrew played Michael and Alice played Grandma in the main cast at Darlington Arts Centre. Both had a wonderful time.
