Billy of Billies - Important Info for West End Showcase
The Billy Youth Theatre people have still not issued a timetable for rehearsals across the weekend, despite an e mail about every three days saying that one is coming.
However they have told me this about refreshments on the day. I have lifted it directly from their e mail being as they seem a bit muddled on the topic and I don`t want to be blamed if there is a discrepancy on the day.
We’re looking at providing lunch and a light supper on the Sunday for everyone, not the Saturday, as suggested earlier, so you’ll need to arrange food for the Saturday only
It is my gut reaction to tell you to send some sensible packed food as well with your child on Sunday in case there isn`t enough/they don`t like it/it is very hot and they need more drink. I would suggest a sandwich that won`t go off in the heat, NO crisps because it makes them thirstier and plenty of STILL drinks - NOT FIZZY ONES - This and CHOCOLATE are disasters waiting to happen to costumes, SO PLEASE DO NOT SEND CHOCOLATE - CEREAL BARS AND FRUIT ARE BETTER OPTIONS
ALSO - they are using the song “Electricity” as a finale song (which seems a very wierd choice to me - but hey ho) so all our West End party will have to learn the song off by heart. I don`t want any “goldfish” mouthing non-words to cover up the fact that they do not know them so on the link below you can go to a sung version of the song and the lyrics are underneath the post. PLEASE DO NOT TRY PRACTISING WITH THE BACKING TRACK BECAUSE IT IS A VERY DIFFICULT AND CONFUSING ONE TO USE AND ON THE NIGHT WE HAVE A LIVE BAND ANYWAY SO IT IS POINTLESS. JUST PRACTISE WITH THE SUNG VERSION.
THERE WILL BE NO TIME TO REHEARSE THIS WITH EVERYONE BEFORE WE GO APART FROM HALF AN HOUR BEFORE NEXT MONDAY`S WHOLE CAST REHEARSAL - SO PLEASE LEARN AND PRACTISE THE SONG AT HOME AND COME TO REHEARSE AT 6.30pm ON MONDAY 14th JULY.
