Billy of Billies - Important West End Guests at the Gala on Sunday
I have just learned from the staff at the Gala Theatre that a whole lot of important guests from The West End “Billy Elliot” show are coming up to be in the audience of the Billy Youth Theatre showcase on Sunday - I`ll bet they`ll be sitting next to you Sue!!
There will be Lee Hall - the writer of the show, Lee Proud the resident choreographer, Trevor Fox and Dave Nellist who have both played George and representatives of “Working Title” who own the rights of the show I believe and have produced it, and representatives of Cactus Productions who have overseen the administration of the Billy Youth Theatre project.
I am told that our regional showcase is the only one to get this high profile visit and they are particularly interested because of the geographical proximity of Durham to the setting of the show`s plot.
What an honour - no pressure then Lizzie and Stuart and all the rest of the team!!
Come on angry dancers and ballet girls - your chance to shine for the “Billy” choreographer!!
