Update from Teesside High School

I have been updated as to the swine flu infection at Teesside High School as of Thursday 18th June by the bursar of the school.

Whilst another child has been confirmed as having the virus, that child is linked to the original outbreak and apart from that, no moreĀ  cases have been confirmed at this time. The school is fully open to all their students.

They have undertaken to tell me if that situation changes before we go in on Sunday. As I said in my original letter last week, the authorities say that the virus cannot survive on surfaces for longer than 12 hours, so it should be more than safe for us to use the building as about 36 hours will have passed from their children using the building to our going in.

I will be supplying anti-bacterial handwash and making sure that students use this before eating their breaks with us but I believe that if the authorities have given the go-ahead for the building to be in use as a day school, then it must be safe for us on the weekend too.

Please ring me on 01325 337667 if you have any concerns.
