REPORT FROM HANDS OF LOVE ORPHANAGE&SCHOOL, NAMADHI- MAYUGE DISTRICT. DATE OF REPORT: 12TH JULY 2008. Dear all Hands of love in UK: Greetings: We bring you greetings from our family, Hands of Love orphanage and school, Namadhi-Mayuge district and Hands of Love community. Many of your names are house hold names in this community because we mention them frequently whenever we are holding community meetings on HIV/AIDS, Borehole/Water well meetings, updates from HANDS OF love meetings etc. Thank you all of you dear friends for adopting Hands of love orphanage&school and this community as recipient of your love! We are so grateful. July Transfer: Thank you very much for the money you gave and sent us in July. It arrived so well.We shall make use of every pound for its purpose. Medical Updates; re sponsored children: 1. Brian Tigawalana:Had his last hospital visit on July 1st,2008. I love to scan his medical form and send it to you may be one of you may understand better the medical language. Other than Hernia, Brian has Malaria parasites. - On Monday 14th at 12.00 pm, Brian will going to the Hospital for operation at Iganga Town. Dr. Bamudaziza shall do his operation. He will be under the care of Ramadan until Wednesday and then another staff member shall take over for the next 4 days when he will be back at the Orphanage. His operation is scheduled for Tuesday 16th at 10.00a.m. -We have all the required money for Brian’s operation, Treatment and care. This money was sent by Sam and Senga Smith, Brian’s sponsors. Although Brian looks scared, he has accepted to go for the operation as it is the only relief of the big pain he has endured for so long! 2. Godfrey Byakatonda: Has terrible skin rushes. 3. Peruth Naleka: Has a big tumour in her arm pit. 4. Rose Awinjo: Has had persistant malaria for the last one month. 5. Ronald Waisswa- Stomach ache. 6. Charles ochieng: has puss in both ears. 7. Jane Kyampire and Lazia Kyikuseza: Has constant stomach ache which leads to Vomiting. 8. Vincent okoth’s ring worm has persisted. If you can get us skin ointments for rig warm it will be good news for Vincent and others with a similar problem General healthy Problems: · Again 121 cases of Toothache pains. We request for people who can help us with some money to enable us bring the dentists at the Orphanage next month( We could do it on Monday August 11th)
The staff welfare: - Mercy Mudondo’s (teacher) second surgery on July 4th was successful. Thank you very much for the prayers and help. - Charles Mulabi: (teacher)Since early June, he has had Avery rough time in his family. Sickness of his children, his paternal uncle is dieing of AIDS(his parents already died).Himself is struggling with some sickness. He used his first monthly support towards his health. Presently he does most of his work sitted.The Doctors say, after the next 15 days he will be OK. Pray with us for him. -Ziyadi Minana-(teacher) One of the new staff is sick but under treatment. -Miriam Nayerya(teacher) Her baby has had malaria. -Sylvia Kyabita: (headmistress of school and manager of orphanage)-Has accepted to go for operation after the second week of August. She also has toothache ache but prefers refilling rather than extraction. She is continuing to be excellent with her work. The salon: Operating so well. Thank you all you dear friends for relieving our precious children the much pain they endured every week as they were being shaved by razor blades! Vic Paul (Elijah Sebuchu’s son): is to have 2 weeks off his studies in September and he plans to be with the teenagers of Hands of love orphanage training them in Life skills. He will also teach Mathematics and sciences to the Candidate class( primary seven). The Healthy centre: In the next few days we hope to have goodnews on this important issue. We have 6 months salary for the nurse as required buy the Director of health services, we have assured them of continued salary for the Nurse from you and good working environment . Jackson Obbo: is the new security Guard. He joins us with not only his skills in security matters but also with an overflowing love for children. We are so grateful for your support to enable us get this good man. Water well: In April our water well broke down but was repaired with the help of Money donated by Pastor Des, Ewan and Dennis., They gave this money cash. Our Base in Uganda: Last January 2008, we were helped by High Tech ministries led by Mathew Stevens of Atlanta Georgia to purchase our ministry land 8 Miles on Gayaza road, Kampala, Uganda. Pastor Desmond Gurr and Dundee full Gospel Church in Scotland UK are helping us to build a semi- Permanent Church structure. We hope to move into these premises by the 10th of August 2008.Here we shall have the KICC church building, build a children church and offices.- This is the GDM Base, And the Home of Hands of Love foundation. So our HIV/AIDS combat programme office, Liaison office for Hands of love orphanages&schools, Missions office etc shall be located here.So very soon our physical address and location shall change but the better. We hope to be more efficient and to have abetter administration structure. Need for Digital cameras: We have a need for at least 2 other good digital cameras. This is for efficiency in our accountability ie photos for sponsors etc. if anyone can help with the cameras please contact John and Linda Gray.
