The Apprentice is chosen!! - UPDATED
I am sorry to announce that Vetty did not win the Apprentice challenge that Alpha Radio were running, to find a new person to work on their Breakfast Show.
Vetty had asked Stagecoach to join her in her finalist bid to to win the job by meeting her outside the Alpha Studios this morning (Friday 27th June) at 8am and singing Abba`s “Thank You For The Music” to anyone who was passing in the street. Vetty arrived dressed as Wonder Woman with two assistants dressed as Buzz LightYear and Woody. She also had an outside caterer cooking sausage and bacon sandwiches on a barbecue.
She was trying to impress the organisers with her initiative, commitment and PR capabilities in her last pitch for the job. I was happy to support her because I love to see anyone using initiative and a sense of fun - and it gave our students a very unusual performance opportunity. Singing over the top of the traffic noise was quite something.
Alpha Radio brought an outside broadcast microphone to record the children`s singing and they got a breakfast sandwich from the barbecue too before they left for school. They have promised us a recording of the broadcast on disc too to be collected later.
We are sorry Vetty that we could not swing it for you in the competition. You put in a lot of effort.
