Fantastic - a student at RADA!!
We are over the moon for Rachael Deverell who found out today that she has been accepted for a place at RADA. Rachael was one of our original Darlington Saturday Afternoon school students who was with us for a lot of years. She first came to my attention at the Open Meeting when we were first opening in Darlington, because she arrived very late - just as we were leaving - that`s the way to make an entrance!!
Rachael has had a very tough time of late with her health, first catching a foreign bug which left her in intensive care, then getting a resulting condition which has been very difficult for her to recover from. As a result of her ill health, she had to defer a place at Mountview Drama school last September, and has had to take a year out. Rachael had applied to RADA in two previous years and each time got further through the audition process. She took the opportunity of her unexpected year out to apply again and this time it was third time lucky!!
I can`t tell you how thrilled for her I am. Rachael has been in to help as a Drama teacher a few times across the year, particularly during the Trinity exams of Main school, so if you know her, please send her a message as a follow-on of this posting.
