Ex-Student Successes

I received this e mail from the mum of an ex-student, who was an original Stagecoach Darlington student.  It reminds me how well all that group of friends have done in the Performing Arts field:  Jenny Wiper (details below), Zoe Birkett (last girl left in ITV`s original Pop Idol series and currently working professionally) Jodie Taibi (working professionally, soon to appear in a new ITV comedy series,  after graduating from The Central School of Speech and Drama), Robin Mills (currently studying Musical Theatre at The London Studio Centre, and soon to appear on TV in documentary about Britannia High)  Suzy Potter (waiting to start Manchester Met for Drama in September) Rachael Deverell (offered a place at Mountview Drama school in London for last year, in Drama, but prevented from starting by ill-health. Rachael now has got through all three tough audition rounds at RADA and is hoping to get the offer of a place there after the final selections) Alicia Mc Kenzie who is working for the Unicorn Theatre in London - which is the premier children`s theatre in the country.

Here is what Jenny`s mum wrote:-

Dear Trudy,Just thought you might like to hear about the success of another former Darlington Saturday p.m. stagecoach student.  After completing A levels Jen went to Kings College in London and achieved a great Philosophy degree in July last year.  Her biggest achievement, as far as she was concerned however, was her part in Kings Musical Theatre  Group.  She performed major parts and leading roles in three shows a year and went on to direct Fiddler on the Roof!  She was unable to come home for the Darlington and Yarm Birthday celebrations as she was performing on tour with the Group in Devon!Jenny has worked for the last year in Event Management as a PA to the director of Evolve Event Management whilst applying for drama schools,  but is now getting ready for a three week summer school at Guildhall in London!  Then her dream comes true as she joins Drama School in September!  She is joining the London Acadamy of Music and Dramatic Arts (LAMDA) on a foundation year course with a view to a two/three year acting course the following year.  We are absolutely delighted for her as her dreams are becoming a reality!  Its strange to think that all of those exams she took at Stagecoach through LAMDA and now she is going to actually attend there. The biggest problem we have now of course is funding the three or four year course at Drama School - might have to sell my Stagecoach Shares!!Stagecoach was great for Jenny and she achieved some great opportunities through the school and it is great to see you going from strength to strength!  Jenny was among the very first Stagecoach School pupils in Darlington and I know she has very fond memories of her years of study there.Yours,Gail Wiper

Well Done Jen!  I am so pleased that you managed to do what you planned to do when you left us. We all wish you the very best of luck.
