Here it is - our Sixth Award!!!

This is the crystal award presented to our group on stage at the Victoria Palace Theatre on the Billy Youth Theatre West End Showcase night. It was in recognition of our reaching the last 14 groups from 115 that originally started the project. This award brings to six the number of awards that have been gained by Stagecoach Darlington and Yarm since we began in 1997. In addition, we were finalists in two other awards at local and regional level last year.

The West End Trip to perform in the `Billy Elliot` theatre was absolutely magical and the performances of our students in their own `Billy Elliot` shows, the week after, at Darlington Arts Centre were also fantastic.

HELPING THE FORUM

Our Further Stages Drama teacher Jodie Taibi was so moved by the plight of the Forum that she decided to do something practical to help so she formed a theatre group and is putting a play on, to raise money to support the Forum. It is called “Chatroom” and the cast is made up of senior Stagecoach students. Tickets are £5. Ideally buy a ticket and come and see the play but if that is not possible then please buy a ticket in support of the Forum and Jodie and our enthusiastic students.  See link for more details

Stagecoach will again be providing the “Joseph” Choir for “Joseph and His Techniclour Dreamcoat” when it comes to Darlington Civic in October 2010. The choir has now been selected and weekly rehearsals have started. Click on the link to here the latest news about the tour:-

For the sake of young people coming to our site, or parents who are not over-familiar with using the Internet, below are some suggestions of how to use our site to the best advantage:-

HOW TO FIND WHAT YOU NEED

1. Save our site to your “favourites” so that we are quick and easy to find

2. All the areas to explore are down the right-hand edge of this page - as you pass your mouse cursor across them they will become underlined and this means that they will open other screens if you left click on them

3. Go to the SEARCH box. It is very comprehensive and only searches our site. Type in a key word or name and it will bring up all posts which contain that word – either in the title, or in the body of the piece. Students - experiment by typing in your name. See if you are on here. If not, then send us a message (eg tell us why you like coming to Stagecoach) and add a photo and send by e mail via  publishstuff@gmail.com and then you can put that right.

4. Any parent letters that are sent out are also posted to the site under the category “newsletters”. If you lose yours or the postman manages to lose it then it is accessible 24 hours a day.

5. You should regularly check the following categories to make sure you are not missing out;- AUDITIONS, OPPORTUNITIES, WHAT`S ON, NEWS, LOST AND FOUND, PARENTS. Click on the drop down box under the bold word “Categories” to the top right.

6. If you always check the “LATEST” link, every time you visit the site and scroll through the posts, until you come to something you have previously read, you will NEVER miss anything.

7. If you would like to be e mailed every time there is a change on this site -  so that you do not miss anything, then go to http://www.watchthatpage.com/ and register the following link from our site as being something you want to watch:-http://www.darlingtonandyarm.co.uk/stagecoach/index.php  Then as soon as something changes, you will receive an e mail to advise you that a change has happened. It is a free service.

10. If an article posted asks for you to key in a password, then it is “password protected”, this is to safeguard the information for Stagecoach families only. (Our passwords are changed regularly each term). N.B. Some posts are put up for administrative reasons only and password protected with something that only I know but this does not apply to anything in AUDITIONS or OPPORTUNITIES. If you forget the password, then send me an e mail, giving the name of your child, on yarm@stagecoach.co.uk and I`ll let you know what it is.
